Gosh! This is so unexpected! Well, I would like to thank the Academy...

Oh, Ain't It Cool News website, with these AICN COMICS: SIXTH ANNUAL @$$ie AWARDS you are really spoiling us! Enjoy this link to our double - let me just say that again in upper case - DOUBLE - win in the Best Writers category, and then scroll down for our triumph in the Best Ongoing Comic section. Then go here for day one of the awards and... surely not another double pick for Best One-shot of the year?

Congrats on that, like I said before you made the Marvel Cosmic cool again.
I think it is a small jump from there to the Avengers who are getting thier own movie in 2012 ish.
Just food for thought.

I think you should cry when you win Mr. Abnett.

Xhalax-

Dan Abnett doesn't cry. He's too hard to cry. He makes Andy Lanning cry instead.

But seriously, congrats. There's been so much buzz on GotG that I'm planning on picking up a trade paperback or two. Not bad, considering I don't really read comics.

Rob - My comment was all done in bitterness due to the number of times Mr. Abnett has made me cry.

I still can't read the end of His Last Command without bawling like a mentalist.

@xhalax i'm sooo glad i'm not the only one!!!

e.molinski - The worst part is I can accurately define exactly which part of the ending of His Last Command makes me
cry as it changes from time to time. Sometimes it's the speech, some times it's His Last Command, sometimes it's the very last line...."His last command", sometimes it's that whole section rather than just one piece.

'yis highly annoying as it restricts my read places.

Well done. I also don't read comics, but it's nice to hear that your inventiveness wins awards, even If I have no idea what it is you talking about any time you bring your mavel work up in a blog.
Next stop, a literary award for a novel. How about this booker prize every one keeps talking about. And a screen writing award from those nice gentalmen Mr Oscar and Mr Bafter, and from there associat Ms Golden Globes, wouldn't go amiss. :)

@xhalax i had to stop reading the gaunts ghosts books at work just in case i hit a point and needed to bawl about it for a while!

E - I read on the daily commute to and from work so I sometimes run a gauntlet as times. Though thankfully I've only had to fight back book-related tears on public transport twice...though oddly enough neither times were because of one of Mr. Abnett's books.

Thankfully with Dan's books, I enjoy then so much I end up reading them well into the night once I get home....so it's usually around the hour of 2am when things turn bad. Though twice I've been downstairs when things have happened....though only once have I been fighting back tears via Blood Pact. The other time I nearly fell off the stool during Only In Death because of Shoggy.
