The Mighty One

Can't let the moment pass without expressing my heartiest contrafibularities to Graham McNeill, who won the David Gemmell Award for his novel Empire last friday night. In a kilt. Three cheers! Hip hip...

Not actually read it but well done all the same!

By the way, not to rush you or anything, but have I missed the promised extract from Prospero Burns?

Huzzah!

Still can't believe they give you axes as a trophy.

That the late great David Gemmell has his own award for fantasy fiction fills me with sublime happiness. Doubly happy to see one of the BL greats managed to snag it this year. Mega-kudos to Graham for this win.

I just read Ravenor and I have to say I have found my favorite character you ever created. I've read most all of your other work (Gaunt's Ghosts and the rest) but Wystan Frauka is without a doubt the best character you have ever created (although Lijah Cuu is close second).

Awww... Retina, you beat me to it.

Congrats to him. BL authors are starting to get the attention they deserve.

But I'm sure Graham winning has caused the other nominees serious pericombobulations.

There we go, I feel better now.
