Back in the room

Apologies for the short intermission. I was overcome with a desire to move my entire workspace about, and that meant three days of boxes, dust, and unplugged computers. Back in the saddle again now, so I'll catch up on all your writing Q's from the last post soon. For right now, here are a few words from somebody who liked Triumff.

Meanwhile, I have to get used to the desk facing in this direction.

I have been hearing rumors that you will be writing Grey Knights in the future.
I know you probally are not allowed to confirm or deny but I think they are a really good choice for you.
Blink once if no twice if yes :)

I think that Black Library is grooming you to be the High Lord of the Inquisition

PS
If the rumors are true and GW is making a new Inquisition Codex.
Please use your special powers to force them to make an honest to goodness Eisenhorn and Cherubael miniatures.
Ravenor and company would be cool too

Bigwill - zing goddamn it! ZING!

Yeah, but Will...Ravenor would essentially be a plastic box! And good to have you back, Dan, what's your "view" now?

Not just a box, a chair shaped container designed to Imperial Gothic achitecual standards.
This isn't just an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor. This is an M&S Ordo Xenos Inquisitor

Enough of that for now. If Ravenor was done as the Ordo Xenos special character surely he'd get his special character retinue as well. Though who would go in to it. His retinue from the Ravenor Cycle has by an larg been split up. Best thing to do would be to wait untill the end of the Alizibeth Bequin trilogy and the releas the models and rules for then. Ofcorse the characters in the stories deseve there own mini Codex (like the old Assasins Codex) that could cover the whole 200 years+ of time and core characters. Same with the Ghosts, only a full codex instead. Or an imperial armour book (or 3)
Only way to do it

Hehe, Frieslander, I thought you were going to say 'Not just any box, an M&S "designed to Imperial Gothic architectual standards" box'.

And no, you don't need to manhandle me; I'm already leaving...

BigWill - I know Aaron Dembski- Bowden likesthe idea of writing about Grey Knights, he said so during the Seer Council at Black Library Live!....but I don't think he's hardcore enough to take on Mr. Abnett in a fight.

Shadowhelm - How dod you know I was going to say that, I didn't even know I was going so say that untill I was halfway through writing it.
Xhalax - I don't know, I just finished readind Soul Hunter and that was a good story. Interesting take on Chaos Space Mariens as they (mostly) don't follow Chaos and am not sure if there exactly even evil. Bad and the rightly enemie of the Imperialum, but not exactly evil of Abaddons ilk.

Hmmm... I thought it was the opposite, I thought they were simply evil people, with no real "bad guy" agendas like The Black Legion, and most other Chaos Legions. They revel in killing and inflicting harm, but not particularly bothered against who.

I wrote a short story of the Night Lords, it was surprisingly hard.

I wonder what a take on the current (i.e. post heresy) Thousand Sons would be like...
Probably not much dialogue. :)

Good to hear your practasing feng shuethe ancient japaneses art of moving stuff, and you can apply the m and s adverts to all aspects of life and I frequently do was funny the first time but I think I might b annoying my friends now think there close to sectioning me :)

P.s ist a dreadnought technically just a box woth arms, legs weapons etc I'm sure gw could carry off a decent ravenor model and I'd not there's always the possibilty of a model before he was crippled

Wow, And Here I was thinking deep down the Zing was annoying to you guys.
More than happy to Zing next time.

I didn't think of the Nighlords as Evil just Bitter with Revenge.
I really like the thought of a few of the Chaos legions not being evil at all just the Nemisis of the corrupt Imperium which causes the True Emperor to spin in his throne.
If you think about it Alpha Legion and Nightlords are probally more loyal than alot of the newer legions.

frieslander said...

Shadowhelm - BigWill probably explained it better than I. The Night Lords are bitter and do fight for vengece against the Imperialum for the "murder" of Curze (though his thoughts on the matter turn out to be surpising).
The biggest surprise was the main character of Soul Hunter telling his slave (uppon being asked how his 6 predisesord died) that he killed one after the warp drove him insain. Then describing this as a mercy.
Then there's everything about the "Void Born", which dose definitly show that whist cruel and against the imperialum. They never stopped being the Astartes of the Great Crusade. Just ones that happen follow Night Haunters war philosophy.

Dan: I have a thought about writing, which I don't think you answered.

I'm an author, and what really impresses me is the variety of characters, themes, and styles of writing you work with, and I'd like to know what you do to prepare for a book: and do you brainstorm all those little details for each book, or just collect them through daily life?
