Oh, stuff

Stopping by in a bit of a rush today - inspiration has struck, and she is a cruel mistress. Wow, there's a sentence open to interpretation. Anyway, just two things that I've come across to drop into your amusement and edification shopping basket:

1. This link to a little collection of the worst bootlegs around. It's just very funny indeed.

2. And this, which reproduces a note the great David Mamet wrote to the writing staff of his TV show The Unit. Yes, he does write in ALL CAPS, which suggests he talks as fast as his scripts. Yes, he does make a feth of a lot of sense. File it under 'Dear Ryan writing tips'. I'm not saying it's the word of god, I'm saying chew on it.

Haha lol. Some times it's amaizing tha bootlegers mack any money. They realy should find a dry country and go back to making booze.
The memo was most informative. Hope you give as good as you get vs inspiration.

Excellent! I really need to photo all of the bootleg toys I snatched up and post them somewhere. I favorite find has been the "Incredible changing robut lion thing".

The funniest by far is definitely the Star Wars one. Though the Engrish of the JayRo bag made me smile.

Bootlegging in Asia is hilarious. I lived in Japan and the 'random English' used to have me laughing at soda cans, buses, shops and (mostly) people...

Its like watching your culture being digested and egressed by an alien race...not really far off.

On the Mamet thing... genius. He nailed that 'MEMO' down. Taking notes for Ultramarines, Mr Abnett?

Hmm, I hope not - it's meant to have already be written hasn't it!?

After watching Mamet's Spartan again this weekend, this memo drives home everything I love about that movie, and Mamet's works in general.
