Sadly it looks as though I will have to pass on the event this time around. I was quite looking forward to sneaking Triumff in for a signature. I still plan on dragging you and Mark out for beer some time soon though.
i know i promised i'd make it this year... but that was before last month, when Admiral Fuckmusket steamed his SUV juggernaut athwart my storm-tossed Renault 5 (which i still can't afford to replace) >:(
OH, and I hate popping back here after I've already commented once... but further to my comment on the last post regarding District 9 vs. Avatar as best SF movie of the year... in my opinion the little, low-budget hard sci-fi drama Moon trounced both of them.
Hagelrat and sredni - sorry to hear you won’t be there. Next time, maybe.
Xhalax - Clone yourself. I can testify to the benefits, and swear blind that the side effects are minimal. So do I. So do I.
Looking forward to seeing you, Smee.
Anonymous - and your wiki-linked point? Or am I being dense?
Rob - the inside track says 1-2 (conditions are good for signing, and the going is dry to convivial, but the attendance figures are capped well below Games Day levels). And comment all you like - Moon and District 9 are both on my list, as is Hurt Locker (though I keep feeling let down by Bigelow films). Avatar impressed me rather than won my heart, but I think the thing I liked most was that it made sense. Yes, it was cliched, and yes, it was pompous and yes, it was probably very old-hat and simple by our SF-savvy minds, but from the point of view of a general audience, it made sense from start to finish at at no point was at home to Captain Fudge, Senator Exposition, The Contradiction Twins or His Holiness The It’s-An-SF-Blockbuster-So-No-One-Will-Care-If-It-Makes-Any-Bollocking-Sense.
I often say that I need to clone myself Mr. Abnett. Though the only stipulation with cloning myself is that all clones must have a collective consciousness with myself so that I know what's going on and what's happening with the various clones. Without it, I'd still have to do everything myself.
Anyone know of a good evil scientist that could so such a thing?
Dear Santa, could you please please please please please make a Black Library event on a Sunday when I can actually come?!! (There is an irony that I ask this of Santa but I'm going to keep that little nugget to myself :)
I may actully make it to this if Matt has got the tickets. He asked me 3 weeks ago when he helped me at the bar but not heard from him since. Also it needs to seem unplanned as i'm at MK model show this Sunday and Crewe model show the Sunday after BL Live soooooo gotta be sneeky and make out it's a last minute unplanned type thing so no blabbing you lot.

Are we going to take bets on how many pens Dan uses up?
