Be it an old gag, or an internationally recognised Festival, May the 4th is also this year's Free Comic Book Day, and I'll be a Forbidden Planet in London from 1 PM supporting 2000AD's FCBD publication, alongside Al Ewing, Ben Wilsher and - oh my goodness! - Ron Smith! Details, well, here. We are, apparently, "Legends of 2000AD", and with all due respect to the lovely Al and Ben, I suspect one of us is rather more legendary than the other three. And by that I mean... RON SMITH!
In the meantime, no blog post is complete without pretty pictures, so try this, the cover of the book I'm finishing now:
When you've done salivating over Neil Roberts's fine work, get your blinking gear around this:
And if that wasn't enough, here's the cover to a book I wrote oh... quite a while back... which is now being reissued as the first of the "Classic" series:
My pleasure :)

Wowzers!
Black Library Classics, eh? Nice one.
Who's the cover art for that one by?
Awesome sauce!!
Any hint at a release date for Warmaster?????
That cannot be Gaunt on the front cover of Warmaster, surely?
I love the scale of the Primarchs, breathtaking.
Excited about all if these!
Dan, common finish Unremembered empire quicker - we cant wait for 'The Warmaster' (warseer and heresy-online going nuts about it and GG)
Impressive cover art! Though I never imagined Gaunt to look so old and the Primarchs to be so fething huge!
How perfect is that? I've just finished re-reading the Gaunt's Ghosts series for a 3rd time and, just as I finish, you post a teaser for the next book. I've been looking for an update for a while. Can't wait.
For those who haven't seen, there's already a page for it up on Amazon. Due out Dec 2013 apparently (perfect timing (unless it could come out tomorrow)).
Seems like it's going to be a bit like Sabbat Maryr in that it's kind of a bodyguard/counter-killsquad sort of setup.
Hope i will get The Warmaster as prereleased titles at BL Weekender 2013 =)
In January I was given a copy of Horus Rising. I was skeptical of 40k writing, but ended up running through it, and going out to buy the next books in the series. My enthusiasm waned quickly, so I decided to see what else was available by you.
Now, I am halfway through a pile of Gaunt's Ghosts novels, and I just now finished Pariah, and I have to say... Eisenhorn > Ravenor.
I'm glad you're writing so prolifically. I'm a slow reader, and life is good when you have a backlog of Abnett books waiting for you.
Sacred feth!! :D
Those are all great news, the Ghosts remain my favourite BL series and First and Only was my first GW novel.
Definitely looking forward to hearing more.
Oh and I can only surmise from the cover art of Warmaster that the Tanith are raiding Downton Abbey! ;)
Awesome. The only quibble I have with the cover of the Warmaster is that it...well, Gaunt looks crazed. Like, evil mad scientist crazed. But other than that ... the detail nearly overloaded my brains and killed me. TOO MUCH AWESOME SAUCE!!!!!
We need Gaunt Ghosts every year, Double eagle 2, Penitent and Pandemonium, more Alpha Legion in HH - Dan must agree to clone himself - or we will read this only 20 years from now.
hahahaha now you're getting trolled on your blog posts, that's just funny ^^^ *looks up at the anonymous french poster*
Looking forward to Warmaster the most TBH it feels like an age since I have read about the Ghosts ,it hasn't but it feels that way. I just want to lose myself in fiction!
Saying that Primarchs going Head to Head if a full 30k face Off...sounds like the ultimate Monster Mash to me LOL BANG ON!!
Please give us another Triumff book. Please!
This is awesome news can't wait for The Warmaster!, love the front Picture. Fingers Crossed Brin Milo makes a return...
On a side note anyone know what happened to Sgt. Bray? I'm re-reading the Ghosts books at the mo and I can't recall him being mentioned after Sabbat Martyr...
